UBS Private Wealth Hires Washington, D.C., Goldman Team

UBS Private Wealth Management (PWM) has hired private wealth advisors John Hanley, Colin McKay and Michael Francis, the company announced today in a news release. The team will join the UBS Northeast private wealth market office in Washington, D.C.

The advisors were formerly with Goldman Sachs in Washington, D.C., where they and their other Goldman Sachs team members—Karlyn Wright, a trusts and estates specialist; Louis McCabe, a senior wealth strategy associate; and Katherine Andes, a team administrator—managed over $3 billion in client assets.

Hanley has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry and has spent the last 15 years at Goldman Sachs. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received a master's degree from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke.

McKay entered the private wealth management industry in 2010. He advises entrepreneurs and business owners on how they can coordinate their personal wealth planning opportunities with corporate liquidity events, the release said. McKay is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holds a master's degree from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Francis spent 10 years at Goldman Sachs working with both private and institutional clients. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1999. Following his military service, Francis joined Accredited Home Lenders, working for the firm’s senior management team. He later earned a master's degree from UCLA’s Anderson School of Business.
