A veteran wealth advisor team with experience at such firms as UBS, BNY Mellon and First Republic Private Wealth Management have teamed up to forge a new firm, Audent Capital Partners, a Los Angeles-based umbrella company for a multi-family office and a global asset manager overseeing $2 billion in combined client assets under advisement (AUA), according to a press release.
The former First Republic duo includes Paul Feinstein and Mike Winn. The two have teamed up with Brian Weiner, a BNY Mellon and Smith Barney veteran who is also the former president of Allied Advisors.
The clients of the advisors have known that the team was setting up their own firm for the past year, but the team is only now going public, said a spokesperson for Audent Capital Partners’ two subsidiary companies—Audent Global Asset Management and Audent Family Wealth Advisors.
While Weiner and Winn oversee Audent’s multi-family office, Feinstein, managing partner and chief investment officer, leads Audent Global Asset Management, a full-service investment boutique providing global investment solutions.
Weiner’s role at Audent Family Wealth Advisors is as managing partner of outsourced CIO-CFO services. Winn is the managing partner of business succession and planning. The firm serves affluent individuals and families, business owners, entrepreneurs and family offices seeking objective guidance in tax planning and financial wealth management.
Weiner said in a press release that Audent specializes in simplifying complex family, business and market dynamics while serving as a fiduciary offering unbiased and results-driven solutions.
"In a lot of ways, Audent Capital Partners is more like a wealth management think tank than a typical financial firm," he said. “Both our companies are truly independent, and we are totally agnostic in terms of the type of assets we advise on or where they are custodied."
Winn leads the firm's estate planning, business succession and pre-event planning practice, which includes tax efficient solutions for monetization events and creative Section 1031 exchange strategies.
"One of the real benefits we bring to our clients is our expertise in pre-event planning and exit strategies for business owners that can help them minimize both capital gains and ordinary income taxes," he said in the press release. "Our team members come from various backgrounds and we collaborate to pool our expertise, so we can customize thoughtful plans and strategies."
In addition to Weiner and Winn, the Audent Family Wealth Advisors team also includes Marc Pierguidi, vice president of CIO/CFO services, who has more than two decades of accounting and financial services experience working with high-net-worth clients.
In addition to Feinstein, the Audent Global Asset Management team includes Gregg Kaplan, vice president and derivatives portfolio specialist. Kaplan brings more than two decades of experience in the areas of derivative and equity trading, execution and risk management.
