Russ Alan Prince: What is the Stenger Family Office?
Nick Stenger: The Stenger Family Office is an independent fiduciary wealth management firm based in Naperville, Ill. We built the firm to better serve and manage our own finances more efficiently, and as a result, have built a democratized family office experience for the families we work with. We offer investment management, financial planning, tax preparation and estate planning services all under one roof.
Prince: Who can best benefit from our expertise and services?
Stenger: The Stenger Family Office is best suited for multi-generational families looking to pass down their money and legacy over time as we’ve done with our family. Clients can start a relationship with our firm with as little as $1,000 and grow with us over time.
Our primary family office platform is best suited for families with $2 million or more of investable assets and includes tax preparation and estate planning services. Because we’ve helped over 1,200 families over the past 42 years, we can share decades of stories and experiences with our clients on what works and what doesn’t.
Prince: What is the future of the Stenger Family Office?
Stenger: The future is for us to help transform the wealth management business, traditionally a sales and commission-based business, into a professional services-oriented business. We have seen families between $2 and $10 million of investable assets left behind by the traditional Wall Street wealth management model where tax and legal are often disconnected and fees can be steep.
We hope to fill the gap for families in the middle who have seen their net worth grow over time and with it, complexity. As a younger team, we’ve built a media-based company, Stenger+, which provides regular and consistent webinars, podcasts, videos, and articles to prospective and current clients through our website and email list. We started the digital outreach during Covid thinking we would eventually stop, but the content attracted so many new clients, we simply never stopped. Today, I’m on the 110th episode of my podcast which reaches nearly 4,000 people per week.
