The Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), headquartered in Toronto, has reorganized its U.S. Private Wealth leadership team, the company announced this week.
Eric Propper, president of CIBC Private Wealth, will now also lead the private wealth team in Chicago. In addition to his new duties, Propper also serves on the CIBC Private Wealth U.S. Operating Committee, Asset Allocation and Multi-Manager Investment committees, as well as the CIBC U.S. Operating Committee. Propper is a director of CIBC Delaware Trust Company and CIBC Private Wealth Advisors, Inc.
Propper earned a B.A. degree in political science from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and an MBA degree from the Columbia Business School at Columbia University.
Kishore Setty, in his role as Mid-Atlantic Regional Team Executive, will now oversee offices in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Delaware, in addition to managing the New York office. Setty, an industry veteran with 18 years of experience, also serves clients as a senior relationship manager.
Setty received a B.A. degree in economics from Tufts University.
Scott Thompson, in his role as Southeast Regional Team Executive, will now oversee the offices in Texas and Florida, in addition to managing the Atlanta office. He will continue to serve clients as a senior relationship manager, with over 25 years of industry experience. Thompson also serves on the firm’s Trust Committee, which provides fiduciary oversight in the administration of trusts.
John Hoag joins the company's New York City office as senior vice president and senior relationship manager. In his new role, Hoag will provide comprehensive customized portfolio and wealth management solutions to high-net-worth individuals, families, foundations and endowments.
Hoag has 14 years of industry experience. Prior to joining CIBC Private Wealth, he was a relationship manager and portfolio manager at Glenmede Trust Company. Hoag received a B.A. degree in political science from the University of Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Elizabeth Nichols joins the firm’s Houston office as a managing director and senior wealth strategist. In her new role, she will assist high-net-worth clients and their advisors in developing and implementing comprehensive estate plans.
Nichols has 11 years of experience as Of Counsel to Ridout & Associates, a boutique estate planning and administration law firm. Nichols earned a B.A. degree in history from Southern Methodist University and a J.D. degree from the University of Houston. She is a member of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
Chris Quinn, managing director of the CIBC Family Office, has been promoted to co-executive director. As co-executive directors of the CIBC Family Office, he and Scott Thompson will work together to build out its offerings for ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Erin Dickes has been promoted to the position of team executive of the CIBC Private Wealth office in Dallas. She will continue to serve as a senior relationship manager with more than 20 years of experience, and as a member of the firm’s Asset Allocation Committee.
