Peter Curtis has been appointed BNY Mellon Wealth Management senior director for business development in New York. A longtime BNY Mellon employee, Curtis most recently held the position of senior relationship manager serving BNY Mellon custody services clients.
Karl Gates has been hired as senior director for business development in Los Angeles. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Gates was a business development manager at KLS Professional Advisors Group. In previous positions, he served as national sales director at UBS and, prior to that, a district manager for sales and marketing at Waddell & Reed.
Timothy Schieffelin has been hired as senior director for wealth management business development in Greenwich, Conn.
Most recently Schieffelin was a senior advisor to JSBO Realty & Capital and Source Capital Group. He also held the position of senior vice president and private client advisor at Bank of America’s Private Bank in Greenwich. Prior to that, Schieffelin served as director and co-founder of Citigroup’s U.S. high-net-worth lead generation team.
William Johnston has been appointed to the newly created position of head of private banking solutions within BNY Mellon Wealth Management. Johnston is responsible for leading the private bankers and escrow bankers and coordinating the activities of the mortgage banking officers in the field. Additionally, he will work with regional presidents to develop and implement growth strategies.
