Linda Beerman is returning to her former position as head of the Wealth Strategies Group at the CIBC’s Atlantic Trust Private Wealth Management, CIBC announced Tuesday.
Atlantic Trust is the U.S. private wealth management division of CIBC, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
Beerman created the Wealth Strategies Group in 2001 and was head of division until she was assigned to special projects for the past year.
The services of the Wealth Strategies Group has developed into one of the chief differentiators for high-net-worth clients of Atlantic Trust, says John S. Markwalter Jr., chairman and CEO of CIBC Atlantic Trust.
“Under Linda’s guidance, legacy planning and educating the next generation have taken on new meaning and significance in the lives of our multigenerational client families,” says Eric Propper, president of CIBC Atlantic Trust.
Since she joined CIBC in 2001, Beerman also has served as chief fiduciary officer and served on the firm-wide operating committee. By returning to her role as head of wealth strategies, Beerman will guide firm-wide initiatives, including the Women’s Circle and Generation-to-Generation programs, which focus on outreach to women clients and the next generation of wealth management clients, CIBC says.
