Barclays Expands Wealth, Investment Management Teams

Barclays has opened a new wealth and investment management office in Beverly Hills, Calif. The new office will be managed by Brian Sears, who also serves as managing director and regional manager for Los Angeles. Joining Sears are Watt Webb and Warren Cohn.

Watt Webb joins the new Beverly Hills office as a director. Webb previously served as a senior director, portfolio management for BNY Mellon. Prior to BNY Mellon, Webb was a senior vice president of equity research and portfolio management at Oakwood Capital Management and portfolio manager at Cornerstone Investment Counselors.  

Warren Cohn also joins the new office as a director. With over 20 years of industry experience, Cohn previously served as a senior private client advisor with U.S. Trust. Cohn also provided wealth planning and financial management services to clients in the entertainment and sports industry and was a senior director in the private wealth management group at BNY Mellon.

Additionally, 14 investment representatives have joined Barclay’s wealth and investment management division in several of its offices:

New York
Ramon Hache joins as a managing director. Previously with Deutsche Bank's Markets Coverage Group, Hache served high-net-worth individuals and family offices in Latin America. 

Stephen Brazell joins as a director.  He also served high-net-worth individuals from Deutsche Bank's Markets Coverage Group in Latin America and was the head of private bank emerging markets desk at JP Morgan prior to that. 

Joseph Chung also joins Barclays as a director from Deutsche Bank's Markets Coverage Group in Latin America.

Steven Guggenheimer joins as a director. Guggenheimer most recently served as a senior vice president at Merrill Lynch's Global Wealth Management division. He also served as a managing director at Neuberger Berman.

George Zaki joins Barclays as a vice president. Also from Merrill Lynch's Global Wealth Management division, Zaki served as a financial advisor.  

Jonathan Mann joins as a director. Previously with AllianceBernstein, Mann was responsible for the overall management of Bernstein Global Wealth Management's New York region and was a senior portfolio manager for Bernstein's International Value Team.  

Houston
Don Childress, CFA, joins Barclays as a director from the private wealth management division of Goldman Sachs.  

Jeff Collins joins Barclays as a director from the private wealth management division of Goldman Sachs. Collins previously worked in real estate development at Austin Capital Partners.  

Neil Stone also joins as a director from the private wealth management division of Goldman Sachs. Previously, Stone worked in the investment banking division at Prudential Securities and in loan syndication at Texas Commerce Bank, Chemical Bank.  

Los Angeles
Adam Morgens, CFA, joins Barclays as a vice president from the institutional sales division of UnionBanc Investment Services.

Boston
Barry Pederson joins as a director. Pederson previously served as a partner on the institutional sales and research teams for Morgan Keegan, Sterne Agee & Leach and A.G. Edwards. Before entering the financial services industry, Pederson played 12 seasons in the National Hockey League.  


Chicago
Adam Strauss joins Barclays as a vice president from the private wealth management division of Goldman Sachs. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Strauss was a managing consultant at Michael Page International.

Miami
Ileana Platt joins as a director from the private banking division of Credit Suisse.  At Credit Suisse, Platt was a director serving high-net-worth individuals and families in Peru, Mexico, Bolivia, and Panama.

Rafael Urquidi also joins Barclays as a director from the private banking division of Credit Suisse.  Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Urquidi held positions at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Co. and UBS International.
