Hillary Clinton’s odds of winning the U.S. presidency narrowed at William Hill Plc as the bookmaker said it “took a flurry of four figure bets for her.”
A Clinton victory has been backed to 8-11 from 5-6, William Hill said in an e-mailed statement in London on Tuesday. That implies Clinton has about a 58 percent chance of winning. Donald Trump is second favorite at 7/2, or 22 percent.
“Hillary Clinton has been the clear favorite since betting began, but the amount of liabilities we have acquired as Donald Trump’s odds have tumbled mean that a win for him will cost us dear,” Graham Sharpe, spokesman for William Hill, said.
