U.S. News & World Report has released its first global ranking of colleges and universities.

Five hundred universities in 49 countries were evaluated based on 10 indicators that measure their academic research performance and their global reputations, according to the magazine.

Eight of the world’s 10 best universities are located in the U.S., according to rankings.

The following universities are listed in ascending order, with the top school receiving a perfect score of 100 points.
